Over the past six months, there has been a notable resurgence in the previously struggling growth stocks of 2022. This resurgence can be attributed to the promising potential of artificial intelligence and the anticipation of the Federal Reserve's rate campaign coming to an end. As a result, major technology companies have soared to incredible heights, capturing the attention and excitement of investors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 336 points, equivalent to a 1% gain. The S&P 500 climbed by 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite saw a nearly 1.6% advance.
The mega-cap technology stocks, which have played a significant role in driving the market gains in 2023, also showed positive movement on Friday. Nvidia, a leading artificial intelligence chipmaker, saw a jump of nearly 4%, bringing its total gains for the year to an astounding 190%. Other prominent tech companies like Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Netflix also experienced gains of about 2%. Apple, with a market cap surpassing $3 trillion, added 2% to its stock price.
